Due to the successful record in our Humanitarian services, the Dukpa community chiefs awarded the home 2.6 acres of land for continuity and development in the Dukpa Community and to provide education, skills, and shelter for the vulnerable youths. The Anawim family decided to open another Orphanage still under development called Anawim Glory Home to restore and revitalise the poor and their dignity and human status. It was officially inaugurated on the 22nd of October 2022 situated at Dukpa, Gwagwalada Area Council FCT Abuja. The Anawim Glory mission in Dukpa land is to provide shelter for Boys, youths, and physically and mentally handicapped patients. To rehabilitate and care for them as well as to see that these poor are not receptive to the crisis, depression, ganger and harm of drugs, yahoo, robbery, brostitution, kidnapping, killing and causing a nuisance to the society.
DUKPA COMMUNITY
Dukpa is a community in Gwagwalada Area Council Abuja of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Gwagwalada is located along Abuja-Lokoja road about 55km southwest of the Abuja City centre. After much geographical survey, Dukpa as a community is predominantly and prevalently with youths subjected to poverty caused by the poor rate of the economic state that has kept most of them on the streets, made them homeless and opened them to different crises and dangers in the society. One of the basic challenges above in the Dukpa community is the lack of shelter resulting from the high rate of migrants in the community who escaped to seek refuge from the hands of the insurgents who destroyed their homeland and properties.
OUR CHALLENGES
In the Dukpa community, we have a high number of homeless and helpless youths and Migrants exposed to harm such as drugs, cultism, molestation, brostitution, and kidnapping as a result of poverty and lack of education.
The Anawim Glory home available with Humanitarian services especially in Dukpa has 2.6 Acres of land to provide accommodation to one hundred homeless Orphans, youths, physically and mentally challenged. Already we have twelve (12) Brothers giving their selfless services, four (4) orphan boys, and two (2) mentally ill patients being sheltered and cared for. The Anawim Glory Home is ready to administer selfless humanitarian services to the Community by providing the necessary human needs to the people. Lack of funds has kept our dreams and ambitions unrealized, we seek and are in dire need of your financial support to enable us to erect a structural building or accommodation for Orphan Boys, youths and the physically and mentally challenged.
